Fall and Spring Internships
The Fall and Spring Internship Programs provide opportunities for second, third, and fourth (part-time) year students to work as interns in legal services offices in New Orleans. Paid interns gain invaluable legal experience and skills while assisting the indigent in the community.
Gillis Long Civil Summer Programs
The Civil Summer Internship Program provides opportunities for Loyola law students to work as interns in legal services offices in Louisiana and throughout the United States. Interns work full-time for 10 weeks and are paid $7,500. Interns gain invaluable legal experience and skills while assisting the indigent in the community.

Dean's Scholarships
In recognition of outstanding academic achievement, Loyola University New Orleans College of Law is pleased to offer Dean's Scholarships to incoming, first-year students. These scholarships are renewable, merit based awards. All applicants are considered for Dean's Scholarships during the application process; there is no separate scholarship application process.

The Office of Financial Aid recognizes that financing a Loyola education may involve deferring some of the costs through a fixed interest loan program. Your educational investment will require informed financial decisions about loans, and we are committed to helping you understand your federal loan eligibility and options. Local Rules
The Skills Curriculum Local Rules are policies and procedures governing the operation of the skills curriculum, the awarding of skills credit to students, and certification of the skills graduation requirement.
Transfer and Advanced Standing Admissions
Transfer Applicants
Applicants who have pursued law study at another law school may apply for transfer admission. The applicant must present an official transcript of at least one semester of completed law study. As a general rule, applicants should have completed no more than one-half of their law program prior to admission to Loyola. At a minimum, two year's residence (60 credit hours at any time or, if they are the last remaining hours, 45 credit hours) in Loyola University College of Law is required of students to be eligible for a Loyola degree.

New Orleans has many non-profit organizations dedicated to the direct representation of individuals from poor and marginalized communities and to the creation of a more just society through impact litigation and policy work.
Student Animal Legal Defense Fund
The Animal Legal Defense Fund - Loyola New Orleans chapter is dedicated to providing a forum for education, advocacy, and scholarship aimed at protecting the lives and advancing the interests of animals through the legal system, and raising the profile of the field of animal law.
