2Ls' Summer Legal Experiences
During COVID-19

Alexandra Luce, Rising 2L
"I am absolutely loving my externship experience! The first three weeks were fully in person which allowed me really get to know my supervisor and what was expected of me. However, due to the rapid increase of Coronavirus cases in Florida, my placement is now fully remote. It has definitely been an adjustment to adapt to being remote in the middle of the externship but I am still really enjoying it! I am finding that I really enjoy learning how to advocate for the rights and safety of children."
Children's Legal Services, Florida

Christian Brown, Rising 2L
"I am doing a hybrid of working somedays remotely and coming into the office on other days. I've had the opportunity to sit in on dockets, listen to jail calls, and make calls to victims. It has been a great experience thus far!"
Harris County District Attorney's Office, Texas

Benjamin Landau-Beispiel, Rising 2L
"I am working for the Loyola Law Clinic through Gillis Long funding. Specifically, I am part of a new program to help local childcare centers navigate the loans that they recently received under the CARES Act."
Gillis Long Poverty Law Center Summer Program, Louisiana
