Law Clinic Client Eligibility, Application, and Resources
The Law Clinic provides legal services for low-income individuals. To receive free legal services, clients must be income eligible (living below 200% of the federal poverty line). Prospective clients will be screened to determine eligibility. Currently, the Law Clinic does not accept clients through either a “walk-in” or “phone-in” intake process.
The Law Clinic accepts a variety of civil cases, including family, children's rights, and education matters. To apply for legal services, please complete the Application for Legal Services. We are no longer accepting applications for Fall 2024. We will reopen our applications in January 2025.
The Law Clinic only accepts criminal cases by court appointment. The Immigration Clinic is NOT accepting new cases at this time. Immigration referrals are available here.
The Louisiana State Bar Association provides information on other legal aid organizations and pro bono opportunities here. The Law Clinic does not have the resources to research matters or give legal advice to people who are not clients.
