We can't wait to see you!
Loyola University New Orleans College of Law is so excited to welcome you to our community.
To prepare incoming 1Ls for law school, the College of Law holds a mandatory orientation over three days. This year's orientation begins on Tuesday, August 11th at 1:30 pm and runs through Thursday, August 13th.
At orientation, students will meet their peers, faculty, and staff and will learn about the curriculum at Loyola. This orientation serves as a roadmap for the first year of law school. Attendance is mandatory. Failure to attend will result in withdrawal. If you have questions or concerns, please email ladmit@loyno.edu.
You can find a printable schedule for 2026 orientation here. Please note that this document is tentative and may change as orientation gets closer. Click the dropdown for each day to review the tentative schedule. All sessions will take place at the College of Law.

Orientation Locations
All 1L Orientation sessions will be on our Broadway Campus in the following buildings:
Parking at the College of Law
Permit Parking (West Garage)
Student parking is available at the West Garage on Loyola's main campus. The main campus is approximately five blocks from the law school, and the university offers a shuttle service between the main campus and the Broadway campus. Students must purchase one- and two-semester parking permits to park on the main campus. Students must obtain a virtual parking pass through Loyola's Single Sign On platform.
Street Parking
Most students and visitors take advantage of street parking adjacent to Loyola College of Law. Be sure to arrive early and to be courteous of our neighbors when parking in grass and near driveways or street signs.
The City of New Orleans has temporarily suspended the requirement to have a residential parking permit (RPP) to park for time periods more than two hours in the limited area described on this page. In that limited area, only the two hour rule is suspended. In the map to the right, red denotes current RPP suspension area (permitted to park for more than two hours). Blue on St. Charles Avenue denotes suspension of RPP on the southern side (riverside) only. Blue on Broadway Street denotes suspension of RPP on the northern side (lake side) only.
Common Street Parking Violations
If you will be parking by the College of Law, please read this list of common street parking violations.
