Kathryn Venturatos Lorio Emerging Scholars Program

Kathryn Venturatos Lorio Emerging Scholars Program

What is the Emerging Scholars Program?

The Kathryn Venturatos Lorio Emerging Scholars Program was launched in 2022 to honor Dean Emerita Kathryn Lorio and her immeasurable impact on the College of Law. The program celebrates the civil law and bring together civilians to support other aspiring scholars and teachers.

This day-long workshop is designed to assist emerging scholars who have a scholarly interest in the civil law, particularly those interested in joining academia. We are seeking a group of emerging scholars, representing graduates of various law schools, who will present either a draft article or a developing idea to panels of civil law professors. These seasoned professors will offer feedback on the presentations, mentorship, and information and advice on entering the academic field. Loyola hopes to offer publication assistance to the emerging scholars as well.

When will the program be held?

The 2026 program will be held on Loyola’s campus on Friday, April 10, 2026.

How can I register for the program?
