Students in their second and third year may elect to specialize in tax law, earning a Certificate in Tax Law. Students who have met the certificate requirements by the time of graduation will have this distinction noted on their transcripts and receive a certificate.

Loyola offers students the opportunity to administer three scholarly journals. Candidates for these journals are chosen based on their grades and their ability to write. Journal students are responsible for all aspects of the publishing process including soliciting and selecting articles, working with authors to prepare their articles for publication, and managing the journal's production. The law journal also offer regular symposia, which bring together academics, advocates, and practicing experts on topics of legal change, innovation, and reform.

The Advocacy Center hosts several events throughout the year. Collaboration among numerous programs with the Advocacy Center creates many opportunities for both annual and unique events. Each fall, the Advocacy Center hosts its Golf Classic, and each spring, the Center hosts the Fedoroff Lecture and celebrates student accomplishments at its Spring Banquet.
