Bio

Professor Wallace joined the law faculty in 2002 after practicing at the New Orleans firm of Correro Fishman Haygood Phelps Walmsley & Casteix (now Fishman Haygood). Professor Wallace graduated first in her class at Loyola University School of Law and while attending law school, served on the Law Review and as Chairman of the Moot Court Program. After graduation, Professor Wallace was a law clerk for the Honorable Jacques L. Wiener, Jr. of the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and the Honorable Barry Ted Moskowitz of the United States District Court for the Southern District of California.

Professor Wallace teaches in the areas of family law, successions, donations, trusts, community property, and appellate advocacy. She is the author of the Louisiana Civil Law Treatise on Successions and Donations and is a co-author of the Louisiana Family Law Treatise. Professor Wallace is also the author of the Chartacourse casebooks on Louisiana Civil Law of Persons, Successions & Donations, and Probate & Trusts. She has authored numerous articles, which have been published in the North Carolina, Kansas, University of Cincinnati, Louisiana, and Loyola Law Reviews, and she has received several awards for her teaching, scholarship, and service. Professor Wallace is a three-time recipient of the Professor of the Year.

As an active member of the Louisiana Law Institute, Professor Wallace serves on the Marriage-Persons and Successions Committees. She is also active in the Louisiana Bar Foundation and the Louisiana State Bar Association, having served several terms on the Board of Governors, and she serves on the Executive Committee of the St. Thomas More American Inn of Court. As an expert in Louisiana law, she is a frequent speaker on the topics of family and estate law, and she is often consulted by the media and attorneys for her opinions and advice.
