Bio
Christina Luwisch has been working at the College of Law since 2010. She currently serves as director of operations for the Gillis Long Poverty Law Center and the Stuart H. Smith Law Clinic. Through the Gillis Long Poverty Law Center, she coordinates paid internships, fellowships, and social justice programming for students and alumni. Christina also oversees the operations of the Stuart H. Smith Law Clinic, a legal clinic with eight sections that admits third-year students to the limited practice of law under Rule XX of the Louisiana Supreme Court. Additionally, she coordinates the Externship Program, which arranges government, judicial, and non-profit legal placements for 2L and 3L students.
In 2022, the Association of American Law Schools named Christina to its inaugural Pro Bono Honor Roll. In 2023, the Loyola University Staff Senate recognized Christina with the Outstanding Service to Students Award. In 2024, the Gillis Long Poverty Law Center awarded Christina a Gillis Long Public Service Award for her commitment to public interest work.
Christina received a Bachelor of Arts, summa cum laude, from Loyola University New Orleans in 2010 and her Master of Liberal Arts from Tulane University in 2013.
