Bio

Professor Fernandez joined the Loyola Law Clinic as part of its support staff in 1981. After obtaining her law degree she became the Associate Director of the Law Clinic and later joined the clinic faculty as one of its members. Professor Fernandez has spent a large part of her career representing individuals in the areas of family law, succession, immigration, criminal and juvenile law.

Professor Fernandez is very involved in the community by serving on various organizational boards. She is Past President for the Alliance for Good Government (Jefferson Chapter) and member of the Board of Directors. She serves as a volunteer judge for High School Moot Court Competition - Second Parish Court. She is also a member of the Loyola University Alumni Association Board of Directors, Member of the Recreational Sport & Intercollegiate Athletics Advisory Council and Member of the Campus Ministry Policy Advisory Committee.
