2018 Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program

Loyola University New Orleans College of Law is again offering the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program this year to provide free tax preparation assistance for people with low to moderate incomes.

Our walk-in sessions start on Monday, January 29th and continue through Saturday, April 7th. These walk-in sessions will be held three days a week, on Mondays and Thursdays from 1-3 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., and will be on a first-come, first-served basis.  No appointments will be scheduled.

No sessions are scheduled Saturday, February 3rd through Sunday, February 18th due to the Mardi Gras holiday. Sessions resume on Monday the 19th.  We will also be closed from Saturday, March 24th through Monday, April 2nd for the Easter Holiday.

Taxpayers will need to bring the following items with them:

  • Government issued IDs
  • Social Security cards for every person included on the tax returns
  • All tax documents, including W-2 and 1099 forms and Social Security statements
  • Prior year tax returns and documents
  • Information regarding insurance coverage as required under the Affordable Care Act.  Taxpayers will also have to bring information regarding health insurance coverage for each member of their households in addition to Form 1095-A, Health Insurance Marketplace Statement.

Loyola’s Volunteer Tax Assistance Program is affiliated with the Asset Building Coalition of Southeast Louisiana and the American Bar Association.
