2017 Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program

Loyola University New Orleans College of Law is again offering the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program this year to provide free tax preparation assistance for people with low to moderate incomes.

Our Walk-in sessions start on Thursday, February 2nd and continue to Saturday, April 8th. They will take place at the College of Law building located at 526 Pine Street, in Room 118.

The sessions will be held three days a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3-5 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

No sessions are scheduled Saturday, February 25th through Monday, March 6th due to the Mardi Gras holiday. We will also be closed from April 10th-17th for the Easter Holiday.

Taxpayers will need to bring the following items with them:

  • Government issued IDs
  • Social Security cards for every person included on the tax returns
  • All tax documents, including W-2 and 1099 forms and Social Security statements
  • Prior year tax returns and documents
  • Information regarding insurance coverage as required under the Affordable Care Act.  Taxpayers will also have to bring information regarding health insurance coverage for each member of their households in addition to Form 1095-A, Health Insurance Marketplace Statement.

Loyola’s Volunteer Tax Assistance Program is affiliated with the Asset Building Coalition of Southeast Louisiana and the American Bar Association.
