2019 Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program

Loyola University New Orleans College of Law is again offering the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program this year to provide free tax preparation assistance for people with low to moderate incomes.

Our walk-in sessions start on Tuesday, February 5th and continue through Saturday, April 6th. These walk-in sessions will be held two days a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1-3 p.m. and will be on a first-come, first-served basis in room 112. Saturday sessions will be by appointment only from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.  To schedule an appointment please e-mail Chad Rice at carice@loyno.edu.

No sessions are scheduled February 23rd through March 5th due to the Mardi Gras Holiday. Sessions resume on Thursday, March 7th.  

Taxpayers will need to bring the following items with them:

  • Government issued IDs
  • Social Security cards for every person included on the tax returns
  • All tax documents, including W-2 and 1099 forms and Social Security statements
  • Prior year tax returns and documents
  • Information regarding insurance coverage as required under the Affordable Care Act.  Taxpayers will also have to bring information regarding health insurance coverage for each member of their households in addition to Form 1095-A, Health Insurance Marketplace Statement.

Loyola’s Volunteer Tax Assistance Program is affiliated with the Asset Building Coalition of Southeast Louisiana and the American Bar Association.
