Study Abroad

A world of opportunities.

New Orleans is one of our country’s most international cities. So it’s only natural that one of the more diverse international and comparative law programs is based right here in New Orleans. With curriculum in both civil and common law as well as a certificate program in International Legal Studies, Loyola provides a truly international experience in New Orleans and abroad.

Our Summer Legal Studies programs take students to AustriaGreece, and Panama to gain a more holistic appreciation and understanding of law by immersing them in the legal systems and cultures of their host countries. In 2018, more than 60 students participated in these innovative programs with many students coming from accredited law schools around the country and the world who are welcome to join Loyola students in studying abroad.

The most recent addition to Loyola's international portfolio is a Semester Exchange program in China. Eligible Loyola students can take courses at the Xiàmén University School of Law in either the fall or spring semesters that can be used towards gaining their J.D.

In New Orleans, students can take international law courses taught by our accomplished faculty as well as special short-term seminar courses offered by visiting international faculty.

All these opportunities add up to a world-class program that will take you places you never would have imagined.
