Competitions

Trial Advocacy participates in both intramural and interscholastic competitions.  The program conducts an intramural competition where students are given the opportunity to hone their skills in conducting a trial with a given fact pattern including pre-trial motion practice, presentation of opening and closing arguments, direct and cross examination of witnesses, and making evidentiary objections. Each year, Trial Advocacy sends several teams to represent Loyola at prestigious trial competitions hosted by other schools or by national organizations.  Teams consist of students that display the necessary skills to represent Loyola as effective courtroom advocates.  At the beginning of each year, the Trial Advocacy Board will host a training session where incoming and current members are instructed and prepared to participate in these mock trials by learning basic trial advocacy skills.  We will be participating in the following competitions during the 2007-2008 school year.
