History

The Skills Curriculum was approved by the law school faculty and instituted during the 1985 – 86 academic year. In 1992, the American Bar Association published the Report of the Task Force on Law Schools and the Profession: Narrowing the Gap, also known as the MacCrate Report, which outlined and analyzed the 10 fundamental lawyering skills that lawyers need to do the work of their lifetime. The Loyola Skills Curriculum is often referred to as a model for structuring law skills instruction.
