This course will cover everything you need to know about taking and defending depositions in Maritime cases. Learn strategies for preparing and conducting depositions in Jones Act cases. The course will explore avenues of effective questioning on issues like what constitutes a seaman, vessel, and employer, whether there was a duty of maintenance and cure and whether the duty was satisfied, and elements related to claims of negligence and unseaworthiness as well as issues related to the proper calculation of damages.
SKR1-CRIM-110819: Client Interviewing in Criminal Practice

In this course students will learn to conduct interviews of clients accused of criminal offenses from a client-centered perspective that facilitates trust and open communication. An experienced criminal defense attorney will use simulations and interactive discussion to guide students through the substantive topics, interviewing techniques, and practical tips needed to counsel clients and obtain information necessary for effective representation of the accused.
