Jill Gautreaux, J.D. '95, has joined Kean Miller's New Orleans office as Special Counsel. 

Mitchell F. Crusto facilitated a dialogue among Louisiana judges and lawyers on the status of substantive and procedural due process in Louisiana law, following the recent Louisiana Supreme Court decision on the mass termination of public school teachers and employees that occurred immediately after Hurricane Katrina.

Monica A. Joiner, J.D. '05, was recently featured in a Clarion-Ledger article profiling her work as City Attorney of Jackson, MS. 

Ms. Joiner is the youngest seated in-house city attorney in the state of Mississippi, as well as the youngest to serve as the city attorney for the city of Jackson.

Ramón Abadin, J.D. ’85, was formally sworn in as the president of the Florida Bar, one of the largest bar associations in the nation. A fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers, Abadin has also served as the president of the Cuban American Bar Association.

Rachael Ferrante, J.D. ’14, has joined Phelps Dunbar’s New Orleans office as an associate. She will practice in the area of admiralty law.

While at Loyola, Ms. Ferrante served as Casenote/Comment Editor for the Journal of Public Interest Law. 

M. Isabel Medina was recently interviewed by The Advocate for a story on the future of important same-sex topics in Louisiana. An expert in civil rights, constitutional law, and gender discrimination, Medina offered her thoughts on anti-discrimination laws and same-sex adoptions, among other topics. 

Van S. Wiltz, J.D. ’12, has been hired as an associate at Dallas-based firm Bell Nunnally & Martin LLP. He is a member of the firm’s corporate and securities and mergers and acquisitions practice area and serves as counsel to public and start-up companies in various industries, including oil field services, oil and gas exploration and production, insurance and financial services. Prior to joining Bell Nunnally, Wiltz worked in the corporate and securities practice group for Thompson & Knight LLP.
