Suzanne de Mahy, J.D. ’08, was elected judge of the 16th Judicial District bench after running unopposed. The Sixteenth Judicial District of Louisiana is comprised of the parishes of Iberia, St. Mary and St. Martin. She replaces her father, Paul J. de Mahy, who held the position for 31 years before retiring this past spring. Since graduating law school, de Mahy has worked as a public defender, and she opened a private practice in 2010, practicing criminal defense and family law.
