Law clinic professor honored by Urban League of New Orleans

Majeeda Snead, J.D. ’84, clinical professor in the Stuart H. Smith Law Clinic and Center for Social Justice at Loyola University New Orleans’ College of Law, was one of five local African-American women recently honored by the Urban League of Greater New Orleans.
“Firsts” was the theme this year for those honored at Urban League’s annual gala on July 16. Snead was recognized for being the first African-American woman to direct the law clinic. She served as acting director from 2007-08 and 2010-11, taking the helm from Bill Quigley, who was on leave from Loyola. Snead was nominated by Dorothy “Dottie” Reese, awards chair and wife of Judge Kern Reese, J.D. ’77.
