Jerry J. Campos

Mr. Campos is a third year law student at Loyola University New Orleans School of Law and the current Loyola Moot Court Chairman of the Board. Before attending Loyola Law School, he attended Loyola University New Orleans where he graduated cum laude and received a B.A. in Business Administration with a degree in Marketing. Mr. Campos also played baseball for the Wolfpack where he was a two time NAIA Daktronics All-American. He is a member of the Loyola Law Review and was an oralist on the Entertainment Law Team where he competed in the 2008 National Entertainment Law Moot Court Competition at Pepperdine University School of Law. During the summer of 2008 he was a judicial intern for the Honorable Donald L. Graham in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, and in 2009 he was a summer associate at the law firm of Tew Cardenas L.L.P. in Miami, Florida. Mr. Campos expects to receive a Juris Doctor degree from Loyola in May of 2010.
Meg B. Alsfeld

Ms. Alsfeld is a third year law student at Loyola University New Orleans School of Law. Currently, she serves on the Loyola Moot Court Board and is the Moot Court National Team Coach. Before attending Loyola Law School, Ms. Alsfeld attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge where she was enrolled in the Honors College and received a B.A. in Mass Communications, with a major in Mass Communications/Advertising and a minor in English. She was also a member of Kappa Delta sorority. Prior to law school, Ms. Alsfeld worked as a paralegal for insurance defense firms in both New Orleans and Baton Rouge. While in law school, Ms. Alsfeld was selected as the brief writer for the Sports & Entertainment Law Team which competed in the 2008 Sports & Entertainment Mardi Law competition at Tulane University. Her brief won first place respondent brief and was ranked second overall out of 40 teams. During the summer of 2008, she was a legislative intern for New Orleans City Councilwoman-at-Large, Jacquelyn Clarkson, and in 2009, she served as a law clerk to attorney Jacque Touzet. In 2009, Ms. Alsfeld was also nominated to the St. Thomas More Inn of Court. Ms. Alsfeld expects to receive a Juris Doctor degree from Loyola in May of 2010.
Kelly A. Stein

Ms. Stein is currently in her third year at Loyola University New Orleans College of Law and anticipates receiving her Juris Doctor degree in May 2010. She presently serves on the 2009-2010 Moot Court Board as a Fall/Spring Team Coach. Most recently, her fall team competed in the John Marshall Law School International Moot Court Competition where they placed second overall and won Best Petitioner’s Brief in a competition of 33 teams. In her second year at Loyola she was an oralist on the 2008 Information Technology and Privacy Law Team, which also competed at John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Illinois. At the competition her team advanced to the octofinal round. Ms. Stein also clerked for the Honorable Kern A. Reese in the Civil District Court for the Parish of Orleans. During the summer of 2009 she was a law clerk at the law firm of Gennusa, Piacun, and Ruli in Metairie, Louisiana. Before coming to Loyola Law School, Ms. Stein graduated cum laude from Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama. At Spring Hill, she was involved in a number of ways, most notably as president of Phi Mu Fraternity and a participant in spring break service experiences to Latin America. In New Orleans, she volunteers with the Delta colony of Phi Mu Fraternity at Tulane University as the Provisional Member Adviser.
Hope L. Harper

Ms. Harper is a third year student at Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. Prior to law school, she graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. degree in Biology/Pre-Medicine from Alcorn State University. During her tenure at Alcorn, Ms. Harper was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Alpha Kappa Mu National Honor Society, and Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor Society. Ms. Harper continued her education at Louisiana State University where she obtained a Masters in Business Administration. Currently, Ms. Harper is a member of the 2009-2010 Loyola Moot Court Program where she serves as a coach and a board member. Ms. Harper competed in the 2008 National Entertainment Law Moot Court Competition at Pepperdine University School of Law as an oralist. She also coached the 2009 Workers’ Compensation Team and will coach the bankruptcy team in the 2010 spring semester. Ms. Harper’s legal experience includes a judicial internship for the Honorable Charles R. Jones in the Louisiana Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. She is presently a law clerk at the Law Firm of Shorty, Dooley, & Hall, L.L.C. in New Orleans, Louisiana. Ms. Harper is a member of the A.P. Tureaud Chapter of the Inns of Court, the Black Law Students Association, and the Greater New Orleans Louis A. Martinet Legal Society. She will receive a Juris Doctor degree from Loyola in May of 2010. Ms. Harper plans to sit for the Louisiana bar exam in July 2010.
Nicole E. Stillwell

Ms. Stillwell is a third year evening student at Loyola University College of Law. Ms. Stillwell is currently a member of the Loyola Moot Court Board and is a coach for the Health Law and First Amendment Law teams. Before attending Loyola, Ms. Stillwell worked as Coordinator of Volunteer Services at the Capital Area Family Violence Intervention Center in Baton Rouge. Ms. Stillwell attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge where she received a Bachelor of Arts in History. Ms. Stillwell received the Samuel Exnicious Award for Fourth Place Oralist in the 2008 Loyola College of Law Intramural Moot Court Competition, the Law Excellence Award for Moot Court, and was an oralist for Loyola’s team in the 2009 Prince Memorial Evidence Competition hosted by Brooklyn School of Law. During the summer of 2008, Ms. Stillwell was an intern for the Honorable Ivan L.R. Lemelle in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana. Ms. Stillwell is currently an extern for the Honorable Kurt Engelhardt in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana, and anticipates receiving her Juris Doctor degree from Loyola College of Law in May 2011.
Cassie E. Preston

Ms. Preston is a third year student at Loyola University College of Law. She currently serves as the Moot Court Board Alumni Chair and is also a member of the Loyola Chapter of the Inns of Court. Before attending law school, Ms. Preston attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, where she was in the Honors College and was a member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority. She graduated from LSU in 2007 with a degree in Political Science and a minor degree in French. Ms. Preston was selected to the Pepperdine Entertainment Law Moot Court Team where she competed in the 2008 National Entertainment Law Moot Court Competition at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California. During the summer of 2008, Ms. Preston worked as a judicial intern for the Honorable Jay C. Zainey in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana. She also worked as a legal aid for the Homeless Experience Legal Protection Program, and as a law clerk at Baldwin, Haspel, Burke, & Mayer in downtown New Orleans. In 2009, Ms. Preston was the Head Teaching Assistant Coordinator for the Moot Court Program at Loyola, working under Professor Patrick R. Hugg. That summer she was selected to work as a teaching assistant to Professor Dane Ciolino in Vienna, Austria. Also in the summer of 2009, Ms. Preston worked as a law clerk at Baldwin, Haspel, Burke, & Mayer and at Fowler, Rodriguez, Valdes-Fauli, both in New Orleans. Ms. Preston expects to receive her Juris Doctor degree in May 2010, and she will take the Louisiana Bar Exam in July.
Doris A. Royce

Doris Royce is a third year student at Loyola University College of Law in New Orleans. Ms. Royce is currently the Moot Court Board Selection Chair. She was selected for Moot Court after competing in the 2008 Argue-on Competition. Before attending law school, Ms. Royce attended Loyola University New Orleans where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. During the summers of 2007 and 2008, Ms. Royce worked at Phelps Dunbar, L.L. P., in New Orleans. Most recently she worked with Senior Litigation Counsel at Northrop Grumman, for Blue Williams, L.L.P., also in New Orleans. Ms. Royce will receive her Juris Doctor in May, 2010, and will take the Louisiana Bar Exam in July.

Anthony Bayers
National Team Brief Writer
Mr. Bayers is a third year evening law student at the Loyola University New Orleans College of Law and the current Loyola Moot Court National Team brief writer. He was the brief writer on the 2009 Duberstein National Bankruptcy team which is sponsored by the American Bankruptcy Institute and held at St. John’s University School of Law in New York City. The Loyola team advanced to the octo-final round and the team brief was acknowledged as an “outstanding brief,” the only petitioner’s brief to receive such honors. Before attending Loyola Law School, he attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge where he received a Bachelor of Architecture degree. Mr. Bayers is a licensed architect in the State of Louisiana, is certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, and is a member of the American Institute of Architects. Currently, Mr. Bayers is a law clerk with firm of Sidney L. Shushan, APLC, while also continuing to practice architecture. Mr. Bayers expects to receive a Juris Doctor degree from Loyola in May of 2011.
Kristina Kent
National Team Oralist
Ms. Kent is a third year law student at Loyola University New Orleans School of Law and currently an oralist on the Loyola National Moot Court Team. Before attending Loyola Law School, she attended Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC where she graduated cum laude and received a B.A. in Political Science. In college, Ms. Kent served as President of Winthrop’s Amnesty International Chapter and won the University’s American Legion Award for community service. Upon graduation, she served the Gulf Coast in home and community restoration as a corps member and assistant team leader in Americorps *NCCC. She was an oralist on the First Amendment Team where she competed in the 2009 First Amendment Moot Court Competition at Vanderbilt University School of Law. During the summer of 2008 she was a summer associate at New Orleans Legal Assistance Corporation in the Road Home Unit, and in 2009 she was a summer associate at the law firm of Connick and Connick, L.L.C. in Metairie, Louisiana. Ms. Kent expects to receive a Juris Doctor degree from Loyola in May of 2010.
Lindsey Surratt
National Team Oralist
Ms. Surratt is currently a third year law student at Loyola University New Orleans College of Law and an oralist on Loyola’s National Moot Court Team. Before attending law school, she attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, graduating as a member of Gamma Sigma Alpha Greek Honor Society and receiving a B.A. in Political Science with a minor in Archaeology. Ms. Surratt is also a member of the Loyola Health Law Society and competed as an oralist on the Bankruptcy Moot Court Team at the 2009 Chief Judge Conrad B. Duberstein National Bankruptcy Moot Court Competition in New York. During the summer of 2008, she served as a law clerk for the Honorable Vance Bradford Long, Senior Resident Superior Court Judge, North Carolina Judicial District 19B and attended Loyola’s Vienna Summer Legal Studies program. In the summer of 2009, she worked in New Orleans as a law clerk for the firm of Niles, Bourque & Fontana, L.L.C. and as a law clerk for Entergy Corporation. Ms. Surratt expects to receive her Juris Doctor degree from Loyola in May 2010.
