Description of Field Work
The Office of the Judicial Administrator is the administrative arm of the Louisiana Supreme Court which has supervisory jurisdiction over all courts in the state. Members of the Administrator's office staff the many Task Forces and committees of the Judicial Council and the Judicial Administrator is the Chief Executive Officer of the Judiciary Commission of Louisiana. Through its fiscal department, the Administrator's Office manages the judicial component of the state budget. The Office of the Judicial Administrator of the Louisiana Supreme Court is the hub of judicial administration in the state of Louisiana.

Externship Requirements
All students are encouraged to apply. Students particularly interested in Judicial Administration are encouraged to apply. 

Application Process

Interested students should contact Prof. Linares at to schedule an appointment. After speaking with Prof. Linares, students will be directed to fill out the Externship Application available at Once cleared by OSEL to apply, students will be given instructions on submitting application materials to the placement.

Loyola's application deadlines for each semester are posted on the homepage of the Externship Program website. However, students should apply early as students are accepted on a rolling basis and placements may be filled prior to the application deadline.
