Short Bio

Professor Fincham joined the Loyola Law School faculty in 2008. His research has focused on property law, contract law, conflict of laws, and criminal law – in particular the public and private law relating to heritage and the arts. He holds a Ph.D. in Law from the University of Aberdeen in Scotland. Professor Fincham received his J.D. in 2005 from Wake Forest University where he served as an editor on the Intellectual Property Law Journal, and was awarded a Public Interest Grant for work with the North Carolina Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts.

Professor Fincham maintains a weblog on Art and Antiquities policy, the Illicit Cultural Property Blog, which has been cited by the New York Times and the BBC.
