Professor Buchert joined the faculty in 2002 as the supervisor of the family law section of the Loyola Law Clinic. Prior to joining the faculty, Buchert practiced family law as a sole practitioner. After Hurricane Katrina, Professor Buchert assisted in forming the Loyola Katrina Advice Clinic at the University of Houston Law Center in the Fall of 2005 when our law school moved to Houston. After our law school returned to New Orleans in January 2006, Professor Buchert formed the Loyola Katrina Clinic. Buchert has presented locally, statewide, and nationally on family law and Katrina related issues.
