Achievements

Bickford represents management in labor and employment litigation as Of Counsel at the firm's New Orleans office.

The Chehardys were named the 2016 Political Family of Officeholders: Lawrence A. Chehardy,  his son, Loyola alumnus Lawrence E. Chehardy, and his sister, Judge Susan Marie Chehardy

Gothard was inducted into the Hall of Achievement of the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences, Case Western Reserve University. The Hall of Achievement honors those who have greatly impacted the school and fields of social work for the past 100 years.

Wray was hired by Lafourche Parish as a lobbyist. Her Baton Rouge-based business, Top Drawer Strategies, will advocate on tax and budget issues, infrastructure projects, policies, and other special legislation that affects Lafourche Parish. 

The agency reviews appeals of decisions made by tax assessors across the state.  Chehardy, a lawyer and former longtime Jefferson Parish tax assessor, will also represent a commission district that encompasses Jefferson, Ascension, Livingston, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, St. Helena, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, and Washington parishes.

Brigid Collins ’00 (counseling and criminal justice), J.D. ’03, was named to an Orleans Parish magistrate commissioner’s post by a vote of the dozen judges at Criminal District Court. Collins is a private defense attorney and a former prosecutor and can continue to practice private law while serving as commissioner. In her role as commissioner, she will set bail amounts, preside over probable cause hearings and other early court proceedings in felony cases, and sign arrest and search warrants.

Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry has named Sonia Mallett, J.D. ’90, the new head of the Division of Risk Litigation for the Louisiana Department of Justice.
