Lemmon is the 2010 recipient of the St. Ives Award, named for the patron saint of lawyers. The award is presented annually to a College of Law alumnus who has volunteered services to the college or the university, maintained the highest standards of the profession and furthered the mission of the alumni association. Lemmon will be honored at the annual College of Law alumni luncheon on Friday, Jan. 29, at the Hotel InterContinental New Orleans, 444 St. Charles Ave.
James Kovota, A'91, L'94, is an attorney with Sullivan, Stolier & Resor in New Orleans, where he practices healthcare law. Kovota has worked for the firm since 1994. His work focuses primarily on healthcare fraud, abuse and compliance; provider reimbursement; provider licensure and Medicare/Medicaid participation; administrative appeals; and contractual issues.
Edwin Murray, A'82, L'85, is the Louisiana state senator for District 4, which includes the Lakeview neighborhood in Orleans Parish. Murray has received numerous honors, including being named to Who's Who In American Politics (19th Edition) and honored as Legislator of the Year in 1999, 1998 and 1997.
Robin D. Pittman was elected to Section F, Orleans Parish Criminal District Court on November 4, 2008. She earned her undergraduate degree from Loyola University New Orleans in 1991 and her J.D. from Loyola School of Law in 1996.
