The Honorable Frank A. Marullo Jr., J.D. ’68, has been re-elected to Section “D” of Orleans Parish Criminal District Court, Louisiana. Judge Marullo has held this seat since 1974.
A New Orleans native, Judge Marullo graduated from Fortier High School and continued on to get his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. Before returning home to attend law school at Loyola, he travelled the world as a Merchant Marine.
The Honorable Robert A. Buckley, J.D. ’76, was re-elected to the 34th Judicial District Court, Division A, Louisiana. Judge Buckley has held this seat since 1993. Buckley told The Times-Picayune that his experience on the bench showed he would give the people of St. Bernard Parish "a good, fair, honest shake."
Barrett R. Stephens, J.D. ’07, has joined the New Orleans firm of Lewis & Caplan as an attorney. Mr. Stephens specializes in Civil Litigation with a concentration in Catastrophic Personal Injury, 18 Wheeler Accidents, Company/Commercial and Other Motor Vehicle Accidents, Premises Liability, Property Damage, and Other Personal Injury and Death Litigation in State and Federal Courts.
The Honorable Perry Nicosia, J.D. ’92, has been elected District Attorney of St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana. Nicosia is the first new district attorney of the parish's 34th Judicial District in more than 30 years. Nicosia resigned as judge on the 34th Judicial District Court, Division C in August in order to qualify for the district attorney race.
Jessie Schott Haynes has joined Helis Oil & Gas Co. LLC as Deputy to the President – Civic & Philanthropic Affairs. Jessie was formerly the program director for Louisiana Appleseed and a former associate with Galloway, Johnson, Tomkins, Burr & Smith.
While at Loyola, Jessie was Vice-President of the Student Bar Association and was honored with the President’s Award for Excellence.
Judge John J. Molaison, Jr., ’83 (general studies), J.D. ’86, has been named to the faculty of the National Judicial College, considered the premier training ground for judges in the United States.
