Achievements

Loyola University New Orleans College of Law's St. Thomas More Inn of Court this year adopted Covenant House, a nonprofit charity helping homeless youth, as one of its outreach activities. Members of the Inn, a group of law alumni and students dedicated to the advancement and study of the practice of law in the United States, hosted a pizza party for the kids who live at Covenant House and recently slept out in solidarity with the teens who live on the street to raise awareness about homelessness and raise money to help support Covenant House.

Edwards owns a practice in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi.  He also works in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps of the Mississippi National Guard. 

Powers wrote the highest scoring bar exam of all 2,975 July test takers in the state of Texas.  She will have the opportunity to speak at the Texas swearing in ceremony November 21st.

Ms. McGregor is a member of the Firm's Civil Appellate and Commercial Litigation sections.

Professor Wallace participated in a panel discussion titled “Evaluating Tomorrow's Lawyers: Leading the Way to Learning Outcomes”

In partnership with professors at UCLA, Univ. of Michigan, and Denver Sturm College of Law, Andrea Armstrong co-organized the bi-annual Prisoners' Advocates Conference in Los Angeles, CA September 22-24. She also participated as a panelist and a moderator for a panel on Race and Conditions of Confinement.

M. Isabel Medina delivered the Fourth Annual Judge Harry J. Wilters Jr. Lecture on Constitutional Law and Professional Ethics at the University of South Alabama on September 20, 2016, on “In Search of the Nation of Immigrants:  Balancing the Federal-State Divide.”

Finger took part in two panel discussions and introduced the conference's keynote speaker

Professor R. Judson Mitchell co-presented "Creating a Continuum of Legal Services through Technological Support" at the 2016 Louisiana Justice Community Conference on October 13.  The session covered the ways technological advances are increasing access to legal services and resources that not only benefit the public, but also the attorney, resulting in increased access.

Louisiana DWI presents a broad overview of the [driving while intoxicated] laws in Louisiana. The text serves as a guide to prosecutors, defense attorneys, and judges who have to apply and interpret Louisiana DWI laws.
