Achievements

Bryan Jeansonne, J.D. ’06, was honored with the Dr. W. Turrentine Jackson Outstanding Chapter Advisor Award at the 154th anniversary convention of Theta Xi fraternity in Minneapolis. The award is bestowed upon a member “committed to ensuring the highest level of accountability and achievement of the Chapter and its membership.”  He has served as chapter adviser of LSU’s chapter of Theta Xi since 2008.

Finger works tirelessly to provide legal assistance to the underserved and she works tirelessly with new lawyers and law students to shape new lawyers.

The award is named in honor of the late Camille Gravel, a veteran trial attorney and a champion in the battle for civil rights and equal justice. 

Taylor Porter hired Razaa and five other motivated law students for the second six week session.  Under the guidance of practicing and mentor attorneys, students gain hands-on experience and interaction that reflect real life as a lawyer. 

She was installed in mid-June during the organization’s annual meeting, and will serve in the Chattahoochee Judicial Circuit, Post 1 seat.

During her year as a Borchard Fellow, Holmes will work with Southeast Louisiana Legal Services (“SLLS”) to improve housing issues for elderly clients who can suffer health problems from hazardous, illegal living conditions. 

Richard is a successful litigator in state and federal district courts whose experience extends to the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal and the Louisiana Supreme Court. 

Professor Bill Quigley is on small a team of lawyers for one of five finalist cases for Public Justice’s Trial Lawyer of the Year Award.  The award celebrates and recognizes the work of an attorney or team of attorneys working on behalf of individuals and groups that have suffered injustice and harmful abuse.

NOLA.com profiled the Kenner attorney in their Everyday Heroes series for his pro-bono work and bible studies for inmates.

Kaitlin Locascio, this year’s recipient of the Spirit of St. Ignatius Award, was profiled by Louisiana Record.  The Spirit of St. Ignatius Award is presented to a law student who has achieved academic excellence and embodies Christian values in the Ignatian tradition, focused on the development of the whole person.

And at commencement ceremonies May 21, she was awarded the university’s Spirit of St. Ignatius Award and recognized as one of the its top students.
