Professor Takes Students to Visit Famous Louisiana Monument

Professor Monica Hof Wallace took her evening Civil Law of Successions class to visit a famous Louisiana monument, the Langles obelisk, in Lakelawn Metairie Cemetery. The Langles monument arose after a contentious legal debate after the death of a mother and a daughter, and the monument bears the inscription of the legal case citation. Afterward, the students enjoyed a short tour of the cemetery by New Orleans’ own, Buddy Stall. He led an historic and lively presentation about other famous tombs, pictured here is the sarcophagus of the Locosst family.
