The Institute for the Advancement of the American Legal System has selected a course by Professor Monica Wallace for inclusion in their Educating Tomorrow's Lawyers initiative. Wallace’s course, Louisiana Civil Law of Persons, details family law in the state. Students work problem sets in teams. Additionally, students participate in four experiential components, designed to teach client interviewing skills, petition drafting, statutory application with a component of oral advocacy, and courtroom etiquette.
Educating Tomorrow’s Lawyers is dedicated to aligning legal education with the needs of an evolving profession. Working with a Consortium of law schools and a network of leaders from both law schools and the legal profession, Educating Tomorrow’s Lawyers develops solutions to support effective models of legal education. IAALS is based at the University of Denver.
