Alumnus Patrick Murphree's comment reprinted in national casebook on the law of domestic violence

Loyola New Orleans College of Law graduate Patrick Murphree, Class of 2017 and Spirit of Ignatius Award recipient, authored a law review comment that was featured in the most recent edition of Nancy K.D. Lemon’s Domestic Violence Law (American Casebook Series published by West).  Patrick’s comment, titled Beat Your Wife and Lose Your Gun”:  Defending Louisiana’s Attempts to Disarm Domestic Abusers, explored Louisiana’s bans on firearm possession in the context of domestic violence and concluded that such bans, whether state or federal, would survive constitutional review. Patrick is currently clerking for the Honorable Elizabeth Erny Foote of the Western District of Louisiana.
