3Ls Carlos Baltadano-Arguello and Nichelle N. Cook recently represented Loyola’s newly chartered Entrepreneurial Business Law Society (EBLS) in the National Transactional Law Meet regional competition. Loyola was the only Louisiana law school represented. The competition was held in Atlanta, GA at Emory University Law School on February 15. It consisted of preparing both contract drafts and opponent mark-ups on various dates prior to the meet and finally negotiating the deal in a simulated boardroom at the actual meet. Competitors were scored during every point of the competition, including the contract draft, the client conference call, the opponent contract mark-ups, and the actual negotiation. We are very proud to add this competition to our offerings at Loyola as it will aid in furthering our goal of providing a practical and holistic education for our students. We look forward to developing additional opportunities for students interested in this field and various other business related areas of law.
