2011 Alumnus Doug Rhorer Wins Louisiana State Bar Association’s Century Club Award

J. Doug Rhorer, J.D. ’11, an associate at Gordon Arata in New Orleans, will receive the Century Club Award from the Louisiana State Bar Association in May. The award honors attorneys who have provided 100 or more hours of pro bono service in a year. Rhorer practices in the areas of oil and gas law, construction law, and general commercial litigation. He has represented exploration and production companies and natural gas pipeline companies at the trial and appellate levels. He also has experience in regulatory matters and has participated in administrative litigation involving the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration.  A significant portion of his practice focuses on construction law.  He advises owners, contractors, architects, and program managers on a wide range of legal issues, including lien laws, change order disputes, acceleration claims, and delay claims.  He regularly drafts and reviews construction contracts and solicitation documents for both private and public works projects.
