2003 Alumna Laura M. Mayes Joins Firm of Perrier & Lacoste

Laura M. Mayes, J.D. ’03, has joined the firm of Perrier & Lacoste in New Orleans as an associate. 

After graduating from law school, Ms. Mayes moved to Baltimore, Maryland and worked for local defense firms handling products liability, asbestos, and toxic tort cases in Maryland and Washington D.C.  Ms. Mayes also worked for the Washington D.C. office of national insurance defense law firm litigating medical, nursing home, and professional malpractice cases.

Since earning admission to the Louisiana State Bar, Ms. Mayes has represented clients in both state and federal courts in Louisiana. Ms. Mayes has litigated numerous insurance defense cases involving trucking accidents, construction defect claims, motor vehicle accidents, premises liability claims, products liability cases, general civil litigation, and insurance coverage issues.

Ms. Mayes is licensed to practice law in Louisiana, Maryland, Pennsylvania and the District of Columbia.  Laura also has been admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Louisiana, the United States District Court for the District of Maryland, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.  Ms. Mayes is currently a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the New Orleans Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.
