Shaakirrah Sanders (J.D. '01) recently shared her legal expertise regarding marriage equality with NBC affiliate KTVB and ABC affiliate KSAW, both based in Idaho. Her comments helped to clarify the state's movement toward legalizing and recognizing same sex marriages.
Sanders currently serves as Associate Professor of Law at the University of Idaho College of Law in Boise. Her areas of research and teaching include criminal sentencing, criminal and civil jury trial rights, marriage equality, freedom of speech and press, voting rights, and equal protection.
While at Loyola, Professor Sanders served as Index/Casenote Editor on the Loyola Law Review and was named a William Crowe Scholar upon graduation.
