Class Information:
During the Fall Semester, I usually teach Criminal
Law and Evidence. In the spring, I teach Administration of Criminal
Justice I and Mediation and Arbitration. I have also taught
Torts I, Torts II and Insurance Law.
The evidence texts are Harges and Jones’
Louisiana Evidence, Fourth Edition by Bobby Marzine Harges and
Russell L. Jones (Thompson/West 2003), and Evidence Problems
and Materials by Bobby Marzine Harges and Russell L. Jones (Lupus
Publications 1998). Although students study the Louisiana Code
of Evidence, students are also taught the major differences
between the Louisiana Code of Evidence and the Federal Rules
of Evidence. The criminal law textbook is Louisiana Criminal
Law, Cases and Materials by Bobby Marzine Harges (2003).
The text I use in the Mediation and Arbitration
class varies. I generally use a different textbook each spring
semester. In the Administration of Criminal Justice class, I
use the latest edition of Criminal Procedure and the Constitution,
Leading Supreme Court Cases and Introductory Text by Israel,
Kamisar, and Lafave.
From time to time, I supervise, along with a
Clinical Professor, students in the Loyola Mediation Clinic
and the Loyola Mediation Program. In both programs, students
mediate cases with live clients either in a small claims court
or other institutional setting.
